Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan by eight wickets in the third and final T20 international in Rawalpindi, completing a chase of Pakistan’s 168 for 8 with 17 balls remaining. The win gave Sri Lanka a consolation result after Pakistan had taken the three-match series 2-1.

Sri Lanka chose to field after winning the toss. Kusal Mendis led the run chase with an unbeaten 87 from 48 balls. ThePapare’s Tamil-language report also credited a partnership between Kusal Mendis and Kamindu Mendis with helping Sri Lanka reach the target.

Pakistan had won the first two matches of the series, according to ThePapare. The final-match win therefore did not change the series outcome, but allowed Sri Lanka to finish the tour’s T20I contest with a victory.
