Serendib Vantage is an independent, unofficial news aggregator. It collects headlines and short excerpts from Sri Lankan and international news outlets, groups the reports of the same event into one story, shows who reported it and who owns the outlet, and links to the original. It is not affiliated with any court, government body, political party or news publisher.

Everything on Serendib Vantage is general information about what outlets reported. It is not legal advice and should not be relied on as a substitute for the official record or for advice from a qualified lawyer. Events move quickly, and a report may not yet reflect the latest development. Check the original report, and the official record, before relying on any detail.

Outlets sometimes report arrests, remand, bail, charges and court proceedings. Serendib Vantage shows what outlets reported and does not verify it. Our AI summaries never state a person's legal status. These are different legal stages, and none of them is a finding of guilt unless a court has said so. In particular:

• An allegation, investigation or arrest does not establish guilt.
• Remand is custody while a case proceeds; it is not a sentence.
• Bail means a person has been released while their case continues, not that the case is over.
• An indictment is a formal charge to be tried, not a finding of guilt.
• A conviction may be under appeal, and a custodial sentence does not by itself mean a person is currently in prison.

Everyone is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty by a court.

Serendib Vantage shows headlines and short excerpts that link to the original articles. The original publishers own their content; we do not republish full articles, and you should read the original for the full story.

Some summaries and write-ups on Serendib Vantage are generated with AI from those headlines and excerpts. AI can get things wrong — misread a detail, miss context or overstate a point. Where an AI-generated summary and the original report differ, the original report is the authority.

The ratings on news sources are Serendib Vantage's opinion, formed by applying our published method to the evidence listed there. They are not statements of fact about any outlet. Publishers and readers can ask for a rating to be reviewed through the corrections form; please point to the evidence you think we have missed or misread.

If you believe something on Serendib Vantage is inaccurate, out of date, infringes your rights or should be removed, tell us through the corrections form. A source or screenshot helps us act quickly.

• We aim to review and respond to requests within 7 days.
• We aim to act on urgent legal or safety issues — for example, a court order, a risk to someone's safety, or the identification of a person the law protects — within 24 hours. Please mark these as urgent.

We correct errors openly. Where one of our own summaries was wrong, we fix it and say so rather than quietly rewriting it.

We work hard to keep Serendib Vantage accurate and sourced, but it is provided “as is”, without any warranty that it is complete, current or error-free, and the site may sometimes be unavailable. To the fullest extent the law allows, Serendib Vantage is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the site or the third-party sites it links to. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, and the courts of Colombo have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

We may update these terms from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top shows when they last changed, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
